Throughout the centuries, the Village Gates has been the center of social life, where villagers gathered, socialized, exchanged news, discussed business matters, and family affairs. Even Count Draganić-Vrančić, the lord of Pirovac, would appear at the gate every evening after the mass, and the locals would kindly greet him by tipping their caps and offering warm greetings. This tradition lasted until the last lord of Pirovac, Ljubomir Draganić-Vrančić, who, after World War I, sold the estate and relocated to Zagreb. This space was the heart of social life, and its significance within the community is often reflected through folklore heritage.
