Located in the heart of Pirovac, the Old Town showcases the history and architecture of this area. At the center of the Old Town stands the 15th-century Church of St. George with its beautiful bell tower. Adjacent to the church, the walls of the Old Town and the fortress provide insights into Pirovac's military history. The Old Town of Pirovac is marked on maps from the 16th and 17th centuries as Sloßeln or Sloslein. Until the mid-19th century, it was an island surrounded by walls, a fortified town. In the 20th century, it was connected to the mainland through land reclamation. The Gates of the Village, a movable bridge that served as the entrance to the settlement, were built in 1505 by Count Petar Draganić, bearing witness to the locals' resistance against the Ottoman invaders.
