Successful Fundraiser Helps Improve the Lives of Local Cats

Organized by a group of local citizens, with the support of the Šibenske šape (Šibenik Paws) association, a charity flea market was held with the goal of raising funds for the welfare of Pirovac’s cats. Additional donations were collected at the premises of the Pirovac Tourist Board as well as the Makirina Tourist Agency, which enabled wider community participation and increased reach of the initiative.

A total of €1,311.50 was collected, and the entire amount will be directed toward spaying and neutering cats in the Pirovac area. This measure is important for a humane and sustainable approach to population control, preventing the spread of diseases, and improving overall animal welfare.

The event is the result of the initiative and engagement of local citizens, who contributed by donating items for sale, volunteering, and participating in the flea market, demonstrating how community efforts can lead to meaningful results. Support was provided by the Šibenske šape association, which continuously works on animal protection throughout the county.

The organizers express their gratitude to all participants and emphasize that this is just the beginning, with plans to organize more similar actions in the future, continuing to invest in the welfare of local animals and encouraging a responsible attitude toward them.
