The Tourist Board of the Municipality of Pirovac participated in this year’s Adriatic Tourism Talks 2025 conference, held on April 10 and 11 in Makarska. The event brought together numerous domestic and international experts in the field of sustainable and regenerative tourism.
Through dynamic lectures, panels, and real-life case studies, special attention was given to the transformation of tourism — from mass tourism to a more meaningful and sustainable approach that puts the community, space, and quality of life at the center.
“We are glad to have had the opportunity to learn from destinations that are already implementing concrete measures aimed at preserving identity, enhancing the quality of guests' stay, and involving the local community in tourism development. The City of Makarska was highlighted as a positive example of a paradigm shift through projects such as the carrying capacity study, activation of public spaces, and strengthening of local gastronomy. The Tourist Board of Pirovac recognizes the value of such gatherings and the knowledge gained, and plans to explore, in collaboration with local partners, the possibilities of implementing similar models and approaches that would contribute to the long-term sustainable development of tourism in the Pirovac area,” said Igor Bergam, Director of the Pirovac Tourist Board.
The Adriatic Tourism Talks 2025 conference was organized by the Cluster for Eco-Social Innovation and Development CEDRA Split and the City of Makarska. It brought together stakeholders from Croatia, Montenegro, and Malta. The event served as a platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and inspiring examples that show it is possible to develop tourism in harmony with nature, space, and the local community.
