Pirovac Gets a New Attraction on the Makirina Promenade – A Swing with a View of the Old Town

The Pirovac Tourist Board has installed a new attraction today on the Makirina promenade – a handcrafted wooden swing that is not only an aesthetic addition to the area but also a new spot for making memories, relaxing, and taking perfect photos.

This unique piece was created by Šibenik artist Mario Lulas, known as Lulas Art, who is recognized for his distinctive style of working with wood. From the initial concept to the final screw – everything was made by hand with great care. Photos show the entire process, from crafting and on-site assembly to the final look of the installation – massive wooden beams with two swings, precisely and artistically shaped, joined with metal elements and securely installed on a concrete base.

At the top of the structure, the word "PIROVAC" is written in large wooden letters alongside a symbolic heart, while the seats of the swings feature a smaller engraved "Pirovac" inscription carved directly into the wood, adding to the authenticity. Special attention was paid to the swing’s positioning – it is placed to offer a perfect backdrop of Pirovac’s scenic view, including the sea, the old town, and boats, creating a natural frame ideal for photography. It is especially striking at sunset, when the sky takes on golden and pink hues, making the view from the swing resemble a real-life postcard.

This swing is not just a place to sit – it invites visitors to pause, relax, and sway to the sound of the sea, as well as to capture and share the beauty of Pirovac. It has already been recognized as a new Instagram photo point and a must-see spot for all visitors.

This is the third artistic installation in Pirovac created by Lulas in collaboration with the Pirovac Tourist Board. After the popular "Lovers’ Bench" at Lolić beach and the replica of the “Small Village Gate” in the town center, the new swing further enriches Pirovac’s cultural and tourist offerings.
