Pirovac Celebrated International Workers' Day with Bean Stew, Music, and Togetherness

A sunny May 1st in Pirovac was marked by tradition, community spirit, and a great atmosphere! Organized by the Pirovac Tourist Board and the Municipality of Pirovac, this year we celebrated International Workers' Day in the best possible way – with bean stew, music, and laughter.

At the main gathering place, over 300 portions of delicious bean stew with sausage were served, prepared in five large pots. The credit for this culinary delight goes to our excellent cooks, Marta and Janja from Konoba Vesela, as well as head chef Robert from the Spaladium restaurant, who impressed everyone present with their experience and culinary skills. Fresh, fragrant bread that perfectly complemented the meal was provided by the dedicated bakers from the Laura and Pirovac bakeries.

An essential part of the traditional celebration was also the local Pirovac wine, once again generously provided by barba Živko Begić, which added to the pleasant and relaxed atmosphere among the visitors.

A big thank you goes to the women from the Saint George Choir, who selflessly helped with organizing and logistics. Their dedication and enthusiasm were key to the successful execution of the entire program.

The lively musical atmosphere was ensured by the Lefty Grooves duo, made up of Frane and Marjan, whose energetic performance brought joy to all attendees. As a true surprise, the celebration was further enhanced by an unannounced performance from the Pirovac Brass Band, whose opening notes once again demonstrated how music brings people together.

As a gesture of appreciation and respect for all visitors, carnations – a symbol of the labor movement and the struggle for workers’ rights, as well as a sincere token of gratitude for the unity we shared – were distributed at the end of the event.

Once again, thank you to everyone who made this day more beautiful with your presence. Spring in Pirovac is truly magical – a perfect moment to enjoy the beauty of nature and the warmth of community. See you again next year!
